I remember reading in the past that Intel desktop boards are actually made by Asus.

Is it still true? Or does Intel now have someone else make their boards like Gigabyte, MSI, DFI or someone else?

Nope, Foxconn and Mitac make Intel boards. Have for years. IIRC, either Flextronics or Jabil Circuit (or both) have made Intel boards in the past, as well, but its been Foxconn and Mitac almost exclusively for several years now.

How do you know this? I been looking for this info in google with no success, I also tried to find out what motherboards dell uses in their machines, I see Dell written on the motherboard but I don't believe they actually make it.

Its been common industry knowledge for years. e.g. Foxconn to be OEM for Intel's own-brand P45 and G45 boards

A little overview of Foxconn's massive EMS/CEM/OEM business

Foxconn also supplies most Dell and Gateway motherboards, often based on the Intel OEM reference board design (e.g. 865G, 945G, G33, et. al.). Like most other OEMs, Dell only chooses the designs and assembles the components, it doesn't actually manufacture anything. Hell, Foxconn even does a significant percentage of the assembly and white box building for Dell, HP, Gateway, and a few others.

ASUS supplies the majority of HP's boards, not Dell's. Foxconn does some system design, component supply, and assembly for HP, whether HP chooses Foxconn boards or someone else's.
