I have an intel board I got off ebay to build a hackintosh. Well I have used known working good CPUs proper stock intel heatsink/fan units, and several sticks of known good memory to no avail. I have used two power supplies, both good, one is new, and I have cleared the CMOS. All it does when you fire it up is the CPU fan spins for 30sec to a minute, then i powers off. The people who I got it from are willing to RMA it, but they also claim they test them. I really feel like there could be something I'm missing, but I am clueless as to what?!?

You bios chip on the motherboard needs to be replaced. If its soldered onto the board, then you need to RMA it or get a new board. Clearing CMOS doesn't fix the bios if its bricked.

"Known good memory" doesn't mean that this particular board likes that memory. Try one stick. Try each stick separately. Try other sticks...
