bah, patent schatents... i doubt intel copied them, they probably developed something similar to something someone already thought about before.

I didn't think intel ran a hospital, or had any clinics with patients.

They do seem to have come patents though.....

The inq? I don't believe this. Even if there were a patent case the judge would throw it out just because the INQ reported it.

You know, most nurses that I Came across did display abnormal levels of incompetence... I mean, I looked like a freaking heroin addict when they finally managed to find the vein... (or a pin cushion, your choice)

ummmmm. bet the lawyer fee's would come out more then the law suit. :T

this law suit would be nothing compared to wat intel will have to pay if AMD goes under. :T

Also i think its nothing compared to the law suit from AMD to Intel about them owning a monopoly on the server market back 2 yrs ago.

The competent experienced nurses always got it on the first shot and told me I have large easy to find veins... Its just that most nurses I came across were not very experienced or well trained. I am not saying its EASY, I wouldn't know how to do it. But I am not claiming to be a trained professional at it now am I?

Ok I surrender where is spell check in the post window I don't see it.

It's the invisible button to the right of "quote". In all seriousness I bet they meant you should use word or something.
With firefox I actually have an automatic inline spellcheck built right in so all I need to do is type, then right click the words with a red underline and select the correction.

but seriously folks

Intel will probably settle out of court, because they can out-lawyer just about anyone out there short of google, msft, etc.

They will most likely buy the patent for cheap, or they will just have their lawyers filibuster all day long until the little guy runs out of lawyer money.

This kind of thing happens quite a bit. You just can't stand up to the big guys, even if you have a patent on their entire operation.

I just think its way to easy for you to criticise someone as being incompetent, when you have no idea the skill it takes to do the job. I guessed you were not trained to insert needles or you would not have been critical. It was the part about "most nurses display abnormal levels of incompetance". Which kinda irked me. This is more likely read as one or two got the needle in right away by pure luck, while the rest had to try a few times to find a vein. You have no idea the SKILL it takes to insert a needle. So you have no RIGHT to call out incompetence.

Sorry op for heading off-topic!

5 minutes and about 20 attempts ending with them giving up and getting a more experienced nurse isn't "a few times"
taking 2 or 3 attempts isn't a problem.

So you got one nurse who couldnt do it then you say "MOST nurses" Thats the problem with you. You take one ore two instances and then generalise it to all situations.
