intel based mobo's and the 5900 nu

I am currently using an Epox ep-4pea+ mobo... I can't get my BFG 5900 nu to work with it. Epox support has suggested that the 845pe chipset may have trouble with this video card. I have tried the card with an Intel 845wn based system and it ran fine.

So my questions...

1. Anyone using intel based mobo's out there? Which ones?

2. I am looking at purchasing an Asus P4P800 Deluxe. Any thoughts?

I know these are motherboard questions, but they are in regards to a possible compatibility issue with a video card, that's why I am asking them here.

I have the ASUS P4P800 (non deluxe) with the 865PE ICH5 chipset. And a eVGA 5900nu that runs great in it. Using the 52.16 Dets.

Have you flashed to the latest (non-beta) BIOS?

Yes I did... I pretty much have the latest everything, bios, drivers, even a fresh install of xp home. In another thread on this forum, I posted about my initial problems with my 845pe based board. Just search on epox and that should bring up my initial questions and everyone elses suggestions(not being sarcastic here, just saving us time of going over it all again).

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have gone ahead and ordered an MSI 865PE NEO2-FIS2R. We'll see how this works out. I have read about a few problems with the raid controller on the P4P800 Deluxe. If I had no plans to use RAID, I'd have just gone with the P4P800... sounds like a sweet board. I love Intel boards for their stability, but I also like to overclock, so I decided to give this one a shot.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks again!

Just to let you guys know...

I received the MSI board today. Plugged in the 5900 nu and it runs like a champ!

I guess it must be a problem with the 845pe chipset. Nobody here answered that they were successfully using it.
