Intel Badaxe 2 unrecognized sata controller issue

I just got my system and it seems to have only this 1 issue.

I am using windows Vista 64 bit business edition.
I went to the intel site and the badaxe 2 support area.

I downloaded the intel chipset drivers (certified and dated november 2006)
The installation reported that it may not have been successful. It certainly did
not resolve my unrecognized sata controller issue.

What to do?

This is prolly the first MB manual i have used that does NOT have a section on bios settings.

Edit: a bit more digging...the intel sata controller is recognized. So i'm now guessing it is an unrecognized marvell controller
