Intel ATA drivers don't work with my SE6!

running Windows ME final, 700MhZ, 96Mb RAM, ABit SE6

...after installing the latest Intel ATA drivers my computer will not boot Windows...just hangs at the post screen
...have to uninstall via safe mode.
...no one at intel will give me an answer since WinME "isn't supported"

...has anyone else encountered this problem? if so is there a quick fix.

I dunno about the Abit i815e, but installing the Intel IDE drivers isn't recommended with Asus CUSL2's.
