Intel, ASUS Ceased Partnership

I will probably get in trouble for posting this in the motherboard section also but this really effects CPU's as well.

To me this is huge since I buy 90% of all my motherboards from ASUS. I bought one Epox in the last 10 machines I built.
 
I found Asus neglected the flagship nForce2 boards vs the i865/875 boards. The A7N8X-Deluxe didn't come with a inside case sticker that tells you where the different jumpers and switches are, didn't come with black cables and some little extras like that instant-on CD player. Even the P4P800 had all that.

That's comparing the two top Asus boards for each platform at the time.

Little things like that I noticed 😀

This doesn't affect you. Asus is stopping production of Intel-branded motherboards for Intel, but they are not stopping production of Intel platform motherboards under the Asus brand name.

weird... I got the in the case sticker with mine. A case sticker too. Though I didn't get rounded cables they were just some plain 80 pin IDE's

so you are saying that motherboards which were intel motherboards, were made by asus?
 
Yes, Intel has no facilities to produce motherboards so they outsource production of Intel branded boards to third parties, one of which apparently is Asus. This report is that this partnership is about to end and another company will be picking up the slack. This in no way impacts Asus brand Intel boards.

I dont think ASUS would drop full Intel chip sales because Intel still sells more chips. I cant see asus dropping out of cashing in on the Intel mobo sales. Especially since they are one of the best mobo makes out there.

But it is interesting to see that ASUS makes 17-18million for Intel and now who is going to?

Asus stock must be dropping because of this if they are traded. Not sure never followed them.

I wonder if Intel tried to bully them like they did before about making mobo's for AMD. Remember the motherboard that ASUS didnt ackowledge but was for sale made by ASUS?

I heard of Intel really making a lot of vendors mad recently I wonder is ASUS decided not to put up with it.
 
Zebo The thread title is the same as the article. I tried to find how I could change it but couldnt find it anywhere. Little Help Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

I guess Xbit should have stated ASUS drops Manufacturing Motherboards for Intel.

Not the little case badge, it's a big diagram of the motherboard telling where certain jumpers and features are. I think it's like 8"x6".
 
Couldnt one just printout a part of the manual to a sticky page? Nice of them to offer it though. With soft jumpers in bios Im not sure its needed today.

Asus doesn't manufacture 17-18 millions for intel. i think they only make several millions
