Intel Application Accelerator

I just got an Asus P4b266 mobo and have it setup with WinXP. All is working well but I've seen references to this driver file that is supposed to enhance performance on p4 systems. Does anyone know if it really does? Should I install it or stay with the default XP IDE drivers?

The latest version of the IAA, version 2.00 are not too bad. They are very fast for some things, and slightly slower in others. Under Win2K they can make a big difference to startup, but with the parallel loading and prefetch scheme in WinXP, a lot of the IAA advantage is gone.

I would say optional under WinXP.
