Intel Application Accelerator for 875P Released

Only works if you use the SATA Raid built in with the ICH5R southbridge. They need to make one for the people not using the Raid.

I'm looking for them....I haven't found any yet.... :brokenheart:

They're not. RAID only from now on.

I've tried them....they won't install unless Raid is being utilized.

Here is a link to the FAQ about this......LINK

Here is a quote:
If you have an Intel® 875P/ICH5R chipset and are using Parallel ATA (IDE) hard drive(s), you should be able to use the Microsoft* native storage driver built into Windows*. The Microsoft native storage driver supports both Serial ATA and Parallel ATA hard drives.

Sadly also, the IAA 2.3 that is out for all other chipsets is not supported on the 875P.

They are available from several sites in the 160-170 range (including shipping). PCProgress has them for $162 with free shipping - I have used them before without a problem - Type in WD360 at pricewatch.com. I'd pass on the $195 price at newegg myself. And don't believe any site that says you need special power adapter cables - WD and Maxtor support Molex cables unlike the Seagate drives.

I have only seen the Maxtor SATA drives at one site so far. ctistore.com.

Can you use IAA3.0 if you have one SATA drive and if you motherboard has the ICH5R? Or do you have to use the raid feature?
