Making a Intel SLI is costly because of licensing fees. Even the upcoming ATI SLI is gonna be on AMD64.
Well, to put this as "tactfully" as I can, Intel has been known for its compatability and stability and decent performance. AMD is know for its ever increasing gaming and number crunching performance. so there is a tradeoff to a certain extent. I myself wanted to purchase a 939 based rig with a 3000+ Winchester but was told to steer clear by the very people in our own AT CPU/Mobo forum. The occupants of this forum are mostly AMD enthusiasts, so when they talked, I listened.
So I will hold off until various issues are worked out and I have no doubt they will. I would actually be thrilled to have an Intel Tumwater SLI setup although it will be pricey.
So, as far as I have been told:
Intel = Good performance and Great Stability/compatability.
AMD = GREAT performance and good stability/compatability.
Experiences will differ from individual to individual. Duly Noted.
