Intel 975X good?

Im thinking of getting the Intel® 975X Motherboard.
2 questions.
1) Is it good?
2) Will it be good in the future?

I tend to agree with lopri, Bad Axe 2 should be coming out in 2-3 weeks and it sports more features than Bad Axe 1.

I don't have the board, but I did some research into it. Here are some sources of information:

Basically, it's known for being stable and reliable. Not the best performer, and if you want to OC it you will likely want to use the debug mod.

Its an awesome motherboard. When you look in a dictionary, and search for the word "stable", you should see the Intel logo

I have the Bad Axe (1), Revision 3.02, so I'm out of luck for Conroe compatibility.
I basically have a $250 paper weight, since I can only run Pentium D's and Pentium 4's.

If you chose to go with the Bad Axe, make sure you get a board that is Revision 3.04 or greater, so you'll be compatible with Conroe. Or as others have suggested, wait for Bad Axe "2".

Did you mean chipset or an actual Intel mobo? I assume you meant chipset.

The 865 chipset is faster. The only reason to get 975X is if your planning on using Crossfire.
