I got my HP DV6000T yesterday and immediately formatted the hard drive to install WinXP Pro. I got a blue screen while using Vista...

So anyways, I had to disable Native SATA support in the BIOS so that I could install WinXP. I have no FDD on my lappy so I can't load the Intel ACHI drivers during the install process (Press F6 to install additional drivers). And now that windows is installed I still can't enable Native SATA support.

What do I need to do to fix this problem? I would normally scour the web for days to find my own answer, but my wife is very ill and between work and caring for my wife and kids I don't have time to do my own research.

Can anyone help me resolve this quickly? Thanks in advance for any help I get.

You could possibly slipstream an XP disc to get the SATA support. Otherwise, you would need a FDD to install the drivers before XP installs.

AFAIK, you won't see any performance difference on the laptop hard drive between using the "IDE Compatibility" mode and the native SATA mode.
