I have an Intel 875PBZ Mobo with a 3.2GHz Pentium 4 processor - with a stock HSF that is rather noisy. Are there any decent HSFs that are quieter than the stock one AND that can be installed WITHOUT removing the mobo from the case?

I put a Zalman 7000A on my old P4 3.2 and it worked well while being quiet. The only drawback was that it collected dust like crazy.

if you want a quiet hsf Zalman is the way to go.

Installed a cnps9500 ( the one with a ton of fins and heatpipes) on my p4p800se (i865) you can turn it down to 1500 rpm and it's virtually silent with no penalty on temps.

Install is a breeze with only two screws and mounting brackets on socet 478.
