The first mainboards on a new Intel 810E2 chipset can appear this December already, which is about a month before the scheduled deadline. Unfortunately, there won?t be any worthy changes made to the chipset North Bridge. Intel was supposed to probably add PC133 SDRAM support, however, there is clear evidence that it isn?t going to happen. As a result, the new i810E2 chipset appears just a combination of the old North Bridge borrowed from i810E (supporting 133MHz FSB and PC100 SDRAM) and a new ICH2 used in i815E chipset. In other words, the only difference between i810E and i810E2 seems to be the ATA/100 support.
