Intel 810 and/or 815 allow asynchronous FSB and memory speed?

The i815E only allows for slower RAM speeds in comparison with FSB, except for 66MHz FSB processors.

It will allow 66MHz FSB and 100MHz RAM, but will not allow 100MHz FSB and 133MHz FSB.

The VIA Apollo Pro 133A and 133T chipsets allow 100MHz FSB and 133MHz RAM.

I will answer your question without adding anything to it 😛

(without overclocking)
Both i810 and i815 can run up to 133MHz FSB.
i810 can only run up to 100MHz memory
i815 can run up to 133MHz memory

If you put your Celeron in the i810, you would have to run it at 100MHz FSB and 100MHz memory.
If you put your Celeron in the i815, you should be able to run it at 100MHz FSB and 133MHz memory.

Hope that clears things up.

Can't do that. Andy had it right. You can run on an 815:
FSB/MEM
66/66
66/100
100/100
133/133
133/100

You cant do 100/133

Figures... Intel.. BAH! 😛

I haven't owned any Itel chipsets in years... only what we have here at work (810 and 815's mostly)

I know the 810 and 815 can run 133/100, I wasn't "sure" about the 100/133 on the 815 though, that's why I said "should" and not "can". :disgust:

I haven't dealt with any non-133mhz Intel CPUs in years... so it was just a best guess.

VIA chipsets are Much more versatile than Intels when it comes to custom settings.. I will admit that.

Yes, the 815 has a few limitations, but none of them really bother me. I run mine 158FSB/158mem. The 512 meg ram limit is also not a problem. I never use it all up.

Agreed.

I think most people limit themselves by buying 100mhz FSB crap anyway. Get with the program people! 100MHZ is OUT! 😛 hehe
