Intel 802.11a & linux

Every few months or so I scour the web trying to see if any linux drivers have been
developed for the Intel Pro/5000 Wireless cards. Still haven't found anything.

Has anyone here heard or seen anything in the works for this?

Thanks

I believe there are binary-mostly drivers for the Atheros and Broadcom chipsets, but don't know of any for the Intel. Intel themselves nowadays provides their own Linux drivers for things they want to have Linux drivers, so check with them, and if you don't see anything, that probably means there isn't anything out there.

Thanks, the official answer from Intel is "We aren't releasing linux drivers, please check with the Linux community"

Get a D-Link AG650 or AG520 based on the Atheros chipset - they seem to be the best supported .11a Linux choice.
