Intel 631

I'm thinking of upgrading my dell 8400 with the 925X/XE motherboard with a new processor. Anyone know if the 65nm CPU's (i.e. intel 631) would work in this board? Thanks in advance!

I did not even see the word overclock in the OP.

From my experience with pre built computers you could probably get a larger performance jump by upgrading the mobo and overclocking.

About a month ago I tried a P4 641 in a Dimension 8400 and it would not boot.

Also, I've tried the BSEL pin mod with both CedarMill and Presler CPU's in a Dimension 9100 and for some unknown reason the mod does not work. This was using conductive silver paint to bridge the pins. This same method worked flawlessly with Prescott CPU's.
