Intel 520 - AS SSD Results. Something seems off.

First time builder here. Got my rig up and running a couple days ago and just been playing around making sure everything is running ok, etc.

MB:Asus M5A97 R2.0
CPU:FX6300
Boot Drive: Intel 520 SSD 120 GB

I'd noticed that sometimes my boot to windows was really fast - the swirling circles didn't even make it to the windows symbol. And sometimes it was really slow - the windows symbol hung around for a good long time, and then I got the blue welcome screen before it went to my desktop. So, I decided to test the SSD speed.

It seems really slow compared to what I've seen in other reviews of this drive on the net. The area where I really seem to be falling short is on the 4K test. I'm just looking for opinions as to if I have an issue, and what I should do to fix it.

I've attached screenshots. I will note that I changed the driver from the amd_sata to msachi with similar benchmark results. The msachi change did get the Intel SSD toolbox optimizer to work - I was getting a RAID error message before even though this is the only drive in my rig currently.

BIOS is set to ACHI. SSD firmware is up to date.

I'd appreciate any thoughts!

Seems, or looks normal to me. Also you have 107 uncorrectable error. Keep a close on on that SSD make sure its at 100 percent.... gg

Seems like trim isn't doing its job or is it... scores are legit. Dont worry about it man, just enjoy your rig,, Dont rely on benchmarks,,,, rely on yourself playing games or other things and if its smooth and fast,,,,,, then awesome!!!!!!!!

I get exactly the same score on my 120GB version. This score is within specs. You seem to saw the reviews of the 180GB and the 240GB versions which they perform a little faster on benchmark.

I've never gotten a BSOD related to my SSD. My system is 24/7 and its stable as rock.

FWIW, I had the 180GB version, and got results very much like those the OP got (actually, a bit slower in all categories).

If your partition is aligned, AHCI is on, and you're clearly on a 6Gbps port, is it just not the difference between an Intel controller and an AMD controller? Your 4k-64 look pretty low as well.

I did a bit more google searching this AM and found some benches with 120GB drives that are pretty close to what I posted. Your actual results, along with those benches, is enough for me. Thanks!
