Hi all,

I've got an Intel 510 250GB SSD that's failing right now, with hard locks and the full diagnostic showing a "read scan failure."

The firmware is totally up to date, and nothing seems to fix the issue. First off: what should I be looking for in the SMART attributes?

Here's the data the utility exports:

Second question: Bought this through Amazon, which the distributor was circruitcity.com. Intel wants me to contact the retailer (hah!) and only seems to provide a 900 number to call. How do I get this warranted?

Finally, will they cross ship a drive?

Thanks!

I don't see anything in the SMART data that points to your problem.
Have you changed the SATA cable, or tried the SSD in another PC?

It looks like you have been sold an OEM drive, if Intel don't want to handle the repair/replacement themselves. Generally, with an OEM product, the person who sold the drive is responsible for handling warranty.

Intel did my cross-ship/advanced RMAs for 25.00 but it's not refundable.

You'll probably have to go thru your reseller.

I had one OEM Intel SSD that wasn't purchased thru an authorized reseller and they wouldn't "touch" the drive.

Intel is very picky about authorized resellers.
