Intel 486 DX2 Computer Question

Hello,

My dad's computer broke down and he asked me for an old 486 computer I have in my basement. I want to give it to him, but I am having a problem with it. I swapped out the power supply a while back for another system, so I grabbed another one that seems compatible (same power switch hook-up, and voltage). Everything powers up ok, but I get this loud annoying beeping noise and nothing on the monitor. I have not switch any other components. The beeping reminds me of when you don't get your agp card completely into it slot OR when no RAM is present.

Can anyone give me any tips on getting this 486 running? I would really like to give it to him, because he has been without a computer for awhile now.

Thanks for any help.

Chris

Did you make sure all the cards and the CPU is seated correctly? If everything is seated right, that might mean the mobo is dead ... 🙁
