new to the intel world, with a e4300 on a p5n32 plus mobo, with ocz 1066 sli ram.
1st. is having ram 1:1 important with the cpu? I was having a large problem even getting a post with the cpu between a 1100-1300 fsb. So I kept going, and went to 1400(350 actual) and it posted, at a x6 multi, and then x7, and even a x8 (2.8GHZ!!! WOW).
at abotu 1.36 volts selected in the mobo, but the stock cooler according to ntune should the cpu at a temp of 67 degrees in orthos at x8, so I clocked her down to x7 to keep it under 65 degrees.
Intel TAT I cannot get to work in vista, it just bombs out. and asus probII says I have the wrong installer for vista.
(using vista 64, downloaded what i think is the correct version of prob). So thats why i'm using ntune to measure temps.)
idle temps are in the 35-40 range. so I know I need a better sink. Whats the max safe temp on these cpu's?
