Does anyone have any insight as to why Intel 320-series 600GB SSDs are unavailable for purchase?

I have twice had two Intel 600GBs SSds on unfullfilled orders for over a month and e-Resellers cannot furnish a reliable ship date on the 600GB models. Most resellers have had this model Out-of-Stock for weeks. Is demand extremely high or is Intel experiencing production difficulties for the 600GB model? Even if production was slow, at least a few 600s would be shipped to Reseller, right?

Intel previously publicized that they intentionally delayed the Series-320 release date (months ago) so that they would not run out of stock like with their Gen2 x25-m.

Any thoughts?

They are currently a pre-order shipped item. Probably due to cost. In the current economy, tying up thousands of dollars in inventory is not wise for many resellers. The unit sell price of $1099 is a factor. I don't see a long enough line of buyers to justify maintaining such an inventory.

I would venture a guess supply is limited because they don't want to sell that series much anymore.
