Hey guys,
I put together a computer for someone with a 40GB Intel 320 SSD as the Windows 7 install drive. I only installed Windows and a few other programs while everything for storage is placed on a 1TB Western Digital drive.
Anyways, the problem I'm having is that when I check the total amount of free space available on the SSD, I get a reading of about 1.2GB. I've checked everything and I am only using 23GB of space on the drive. Where did the other 15+ GB go?! I know the actual total should be around 37GB but I don't understand where the other 10GB or so have gone?

Any recommendations as to what could be causing this?

I've got an almost identical install on my home PC and I've got around 10GB free.

I'd disable hibernation, and reduce the size of the pagefile to custom size, 512MB min, 4096max.

pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys. They're in the root directory of the drive Windows is installed on but hidden by default. If you have 8GB of RAM, for example, those files alone will take up 16GB of disk space. As RU482 suggested, disable hibernation if possible and reduce (but don't disable) the page file.
