Intel 3.4F 64bit proc?

Someone did one but can't remember where, I think they said the 'F's o/c's max out at about 4.3Ghz, which is a bit higher then the 'E's. Also cooler while idle then an 'E' but the same at load. Throttle back better when they overheat, but any throttling is bad - if you want one buy a very large heat sync, and don't use cheap thermal goop

Sbuckler, you are thinking of the E0 Prescotts vs the D0 Prescotts. The jury is still out on that throttling, I believe.

I know of no 64bit Prescott benches.

I did see 64bit Nocona benches somewhere. IIRC, it did well against the Opteron but was still a little behind.

...we found ourselves fairly entertained to come into the possession of a 3.6GHz EM64T Xeon processor. Intel's EM64T is Intel's true x86_64 initiative. This 3.6GHz Xeon processor is actually the exact same CPU in as the LGA775 Pentium 4F we will see in just a few weeks. We are offering a preview of an unreleased processor on 64-bit Linux systems. Now, we have Intel and AMD 64-bit x86 processors, 64-bit Linux operating systems and a few days to get some benchmarking done.

Our preliminary look at Intel's 64-bit Xeon 3.6GHz Nocona (which happens to be identical to the Intel 3.6F Pentium 4) stirred up a bit of controversy. The largest two concerns were:

* We tested Intel's Xeon server processor against an Athlon desktop CPU.
* We chose poor benchmarks to illustrate the capabilities of those processors.

Fortunately, with the help of the other editors at AnandTech, we managed to reproduce an entire retest of the Nocona platform and an Opteron 150 CPU. We also managed to find an internet connection stable enough for this editor to redraft en entire performance analysis on his vacation.

Are there Xeons for single processor systems, or will the Prescott F be able to be used in DP systems?

Or are they the same Processor except for that?

Or is it too early in the morning for me?

Newegg is calling it a 3.6EA and it's socket 604. I guess they mean the core is the same?

i just saw it on newegg and searched this and ya i want to know what is going on is it close to the AMD64bit? or what really lost lol
