This release corrects how the model number displays on the home screen for the 50nm MLC (2.5-inch form factor) Intel® SSD. The SSD now appears as Intel® SSD X25-M instead of Intel® SSD X25-E.

i am wondering how safe it is to flash the firmware from windows with this? anybody try it?

I always prefer flashing BIOS' and SSD's from a bootable ISO, much less can go wrong.

I flashed my 120GB 320 SSD from this Intel toolbox application and it was smooth as silk. Normally I wouldn't do this but in general I trust Intel, and more so when I'm using an Intel app to flash and Intel hardware device.

Just checked the revision history from 3.0.0 to 3.0.1 and the only change is:

"This release corrects how the model number displays on the home screen for the 50nm MLC (2.5" form factor) Intel SSD. The SSD now appears as Intel SSD X25-M instead of Intel SSD X25-E".

So literally, an E to an M. haha.

Looks like 3.02 was to be released today. Pages for it exist in the download center, but actual download links don't appear to work. I even tried to view the release notes to at least give you guys some info, but those are dead too. Perhaps tomorrow.
