Integrating Add-ons to Firefox installation without user intervention

Hey is it possible to perhaps package XPI's with the installer? I've tried renaming XPI files or extracting them to the GUID in the distribution\extensions folder to no avail. Is this even possible or is there a security measure preventing it?

Bonus: all this time with the new lame download manager that setting browser.download.useToolkitUI to true brings back the window I loved. But Mozilla is deciding to remove this option completely in v26 D:

I prefer the looks of the manual method. I'd prefer not to rely on specialized 3rd party software.

Just what I needed! I don't know why this other site said to extract the xpi to distribution\extensions but I'll try nonlocalized\extensions! I prefer manual as well, thank you!
