Intel in the past has been dedicated to providing AGP support for it's onboard graphics, and has done well in games during the past. Now it seems almost obsurd to realize what kind of frame rates you get in UT2004 with an Extreme Graphics 2 graphics chipset.

What's weird is that you get a second pause when you right click for a menu with most Intel integrated graphics.
It also requires more memory usage in applications, especially games.

Yeah, the memory is shared, but is there anything bright about integrated graphics if you don't have an AGP slot to upgrade from? (because PCI graphics doesn't have a fast bus like the onboard AGP)

Please clarify?

AGP support for its onboard graphics? The onboard graphics is connected to the motherboard not through an AGP slot that is why it is onboard.

The framerates for videogames have never been acceptible for onboard graphics. Theyre not designed for gaming, they designed for making a cheap computer.

As far as your last question,

I would have to ask you to reword it in english.

The only advantage of onboard graphics is that it is the cheapest solution available. Making it ideal for websurfing and word processing.

 
The only exception to even remotely acceptable gaming performance right now for integrated mobos is the new IGP on the Nforce coming very soon. Its basically an integrated 6200 Turbocache GPU, and even there its not that good, but hey... you get what you pay for, and thats basically a $5 add-on vs a discrete card.

Actually GMA900 and ATI's IGP on the RadeonXPress (basically an X300 w/Hypermemory) aren't horrible. GMA900 can't run current games, but Q3/HL1 era games run okay. And an IGP X300 should be a lot like a Mobility Radeon 9600, which can run newer games OK at low res.

Again, not okay for anyone but the occasional "gamer," but it could be worse 😉
 
I used the on baord video for Nforce 2 until last December. I played game ever day.
The only game the need high end cards are FPS. I play RGP, and RTS all the time, so don't even act like I'm play wheel of fortune.

Intel new solution has alot advantages that FPS just don't understand. First its HDTV support is just as good as NV. Second it supports most game. It frame rate is too slow to play alot of them. But something most people don't know is that intel had hand in creating the new Physic cards. Couple one of those cards with the GMA and you have a system that can equal 9800 speeds.

Remember not every is gamers and not all gamers play FPS.
