Ok what is integrated sound and video all about? I am pretty sure that my intel 850 series motherboard has integrated sound but im not sure about video. How do i disable/enable both of these? Are they any good or are they useless? I have never heard anything about either of them..... Thanks

I just got an i810 mobo.. The only reason I got it was because it was miniature - 17cm x 17cm. I have to use its integrated audio and video since it has no PCI slots. I can't really comment on the audio since it's hooked up to a 5.25 bay speaker system, but the video is OK. Nothing to brag about.

I think that if you play games, integrated video is pretty crappy. I installed Half-Life on my comp and it ran single player. I installed a Day of Defeat mod for it and it was getting choppy sometimes.

yeah i checked in bios and didnt see anything similar to it. Also if i put software on to use onboard audio, how will this work with my actual sound card?

I've built many basic boxes w/integrated audio/sound motherboards. Usually you can disable the Video and/or Sound within the BIOS. A few motherboards you have to physically move a jumper, and some just auto-detect a new video and/or sound card and automatically 'disable' the onboard device(s). But in a nutshell, you probably have to go into the BIOS - I would recommend just checking your motherboard manual.
