Integrated on-board memory

Has anyone ever had experienced with unsoldering integrated, on-board memory for a motherboard?

The Toshiba A65 Satellite series has been known to exhibit a faulty on-board memory module. I heard that its soldered into the board. Before I try taking a part this system, I was wondering if anyone has unsoldered any integrated memory similar to the A65 setup.

Thanks!

I never had to desolder a memory chip before, but I can tell you that it's not fun. I have enough trouble desoldering and resoldering small surface mount capacitors with just two pins, much less a memory chip with at least forty pins. However, the memory on your laptop might be socketed. Try to see if you can get your hand on a service manual.
