srry I hit the wrong button
anyway - on some motherboards I have seen a network output next to the 2usb ports
but on the back of my case I do not see a place for this port to be exposed
what kind of case do I have to get to use the port

On the msi nforce motherboard there is an ethernet port - but on their site they do no talk about a any extension or something that would allow me to connect.
I'm going to buy this stuff for somebody on Staurday and I really need to know if this integrated Ethernet is gonna end up useless to me.
Thanks for any responses

I think msi is one of a few companies that don't send it out with their boards, I could be wrong(wouldn't be the first time).

I know ecs and Leadtek sends it out with their boards that have a nic built on.
Sorry for the double post.

As does the MB intel mobo with built on lan.

Not only would the onboard lan be useless to you, without a different backplate with a slot for the lan, you won't be able to install the mobo as the lan port will be against the backplate...sorry.:(

Rusty what kind of case would I have to buy in order to be able to install the motherboar?

Theslowone - do u mean that every company sends out an extra faceplate except for msi?

Thanx for all the responses!
