I am buying my mom a new PC. I was looking at the Deal 2400. I doesnt have an agp slot. The problem is that my step dad plays Tiger Woods 2004 on there current pc. There current pc is failing very badly and needs to be replaced. A P2 450 with 384mbs of ram and my old GeForce 3 TI 500 that i built from parts when i worked for Gateway. Would this new PC play Tiger Woods do ya think? Thanks for the help. I need some input soon due to this sale ending soon.

It'll play it about as well as Tiger's shot lately. :p

In case you haven't been keeping up, that's "pitifully ass-poor" :D

You could try a PCI Radeon 9100 or GeForce FX 5600. The 9100 is the best PCI card out there for the money right now, but the 5600 is the fastest.

From EA's website - minimum specs for Tiger Woods 2004

Video (3D Hardware): 16 MB DirectX 9.0b compatible video card (see right)
Video (software mode): 4 MB DirectX 9.0b compatible video card
Sound: DirectX 9.0b compatible sound card
3D Hardware Video Card Details: Video card must be 16 MB or more and contain one of these chipsets: nVidia (TNT, TNT2, GeForce or better); ATI (Rage 128, Radeon or better); PowerVR (Kyro or Kyro II)

I can tell you that I've run EverQuest on my laptop with Intel 82830M Extreme Graphics. And the requirements for that are a lot more intensive than those for the Golf game, which can run under mostly software rendering if required. One of my friends was running U2k4 on his (identical) laptop (not particularly well, but it was playable on small maps)

If you do have problems running it, you could get an inexpensive PCI card. But I'd wait to see if it can run it before spending money on that, particularly if this Tiger Woods game is the only thing that needs it.

Really guy, why don't you put a Want to buy thread on the FS/FT forum and offer what dell is charging for the 2400 and I guarantee you'll get a better system without this PCI crap. Trust me I had a 2400, I returned it within the first 30 days. I even got the Radeon 9100 card - still wasn't good nuff. . . .
