Inteface Cable for Digital Camera

So I lost my interface cable to d/l images from digital camera to my PC and I need the Canon IFC-400PCU USB cable. The specs over here http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=90137188&loc=111&sp=1 indicate it is just a 4 pin A-B USB cable. Does this mean I can just buy any old 4 pin A-B USB cable from a computer shop or is there something I should look out for?

My guess would be any old 4 pin A-B cable will work but I want to make sure.

thx

Zucarita9000 is right on the money. However, Josh - do yourself a favor and spend $20 on a good reader/writer (USB) for your memory chip and stop using the cable. You'll find it faster and less fuss - and you don't have to waste your camera's battery.

Thanks guys. Zucarita9000, you're right on the money about the MiniUSB connectors. Anyways my camera uses the regular connectors.

Corkyg, I'll look into the reader/writer since it would be kinda nice in case I bought a different digital camera which has a different connection interface.

or buy a $5 cable & some rechargable batteries, plus with a cable you can connect to any pc

Yeah - but why jump through all those hoops when a simple pull and push of media will do the job? Besides, don't forget to add the cost of the rechargable batteries and the extra cable - and then all the time wasted to connect them. Efficiency is the name of the game. 🙂

i simply freely exchange the 1 cable that came with my camera betwen all my devices, my minidv recorder, rio karma and digital camera all work with the same usb to mini usb cable.

Hoops? all cameras take batteries? Why use reg batteries?? Dig cameras eat batteries, stupid not to have rechargeable. Time wasted? same time to plug in as pull card?? What are you using? duracell? I have 15 min rechargeable with longer up time than reg batts? Welcome to the year 2000+

There is one exception. I have needed the USB cable for firmware updates to my Canon cameras, don't know if you can do that without it.
