'Insurgents' Threaten to Use WMD in Fallujah

*Note that the 'rebels' a) are led by remnants of Sadam Hussein's Army b) have chemical weapons c) are collaborating with Zarqawi's al Qaeda linked terrorist organization.

AS the US reeled from the death of nine marines in Iraq at the weekend, insurgents in Fallujah claimed to have obtained chemical weapons and threatened to use them in any battle for control of the rebel stronghold.

Rebel commanders said chemicals such as cyanide had been added to mortar rounds and missiles that would be deployed against coalition troops reported to be preparing for a major assault on the town west of Baghdad.

A military committee made up of former officers in Saddam Hussein's army, including experts on chemicals and guerrilla warfare, is said to have been organising forces in Fallujah and planning tactics.

The committee is understood to include members of all the main insurgent groups, including that of Iraq's most wanted man, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the terrorist leader behind the beheading of several foreign hostages and a string of car-bomb attacks.

In the first Gulf War, President Bush threatened to use nuclear weapons against Iraq if they used chemical/biological weapons against us. The problem now, of course, is that we are fighting an insurgency in what purports to be a nation friendly to the US (at least its interim government is), and we can't very well pollute it, and incur potentially massive civilian casualties, by doing something like that. I honestly don't know what we'd do, but I imagine there would be very little left of Fallujah within a couple of days.

LOL.. Yep, I saw Bush fly them in himself.. You guys have excuses for everything.. If they find WMD's, its because Bush causes them to be there, if they didn't, its because Bush lied.. If they were there, and the insurgents got them, its because Bush didn't protect them properly.

WMDs, by their very name, must cause MASS DESTRUCTION. These chemical weapons are bad, but they aren't WMDs as far as I can tell.

Listen, there were no WMD's found in Iraq for months and months after the invasion, after administration officials as well as people on THIS board kept saying "just wait, they'll show up," etc, etc.

Then the report is issued saying there was never evidence of WMD but the level of violence/terrorism and the number of terrorists in Iraq has INCREASED since the invasion. If anyone is claiming to plan to use WMD, odds are it's someone who's brought them in since the invasion BECAUSE we are there...
