wtf? They want me to fill out a 3 page affidavit, and send them a copy of my license, phone bill, and a proof of purchase.

AND I still have to pay them $200, AND get a refurbished instead of a new phone?

I don't even need this kind of crap to file a claim with my auto insurance.

They just have to have a high rate of fraud on these things. I think most people will file an insurance claim to get a newer device once refurbs of their current devices become unavailable.

The only time I used insurance was when I had a PPC-6600 and it stopped working, was out of warranty and they replaced it with a PPC-6700 (which was just a horrible device). I only paid $50 and didn't have to fill out any paperwork.

I'd imagine that amount of work is probably enough to deter the vast majority of those filing falsified claims.

I'm hoping my device is too new still to have refurbs available.

Christ this is ridiculous, though.

Although, now that I think about it, I'm replacing a $600 device for $200 and 10-15 minutes of work.

I had insurance for two months on AT&T when I switched to them for the HTC One. Then I realized the HTC First is going for under 200 dollars new on ebay, and there are cheap Windows Phone 8 phones for under 200 as well. If my device breaks, I'm going to just buy a different phone out of pocket. Insurance isn't worth the hassle.

I want another G Pro though, so I can sell it when the Note III comes out.
