I need a quote on a 2000 Mustang Couple V6.... I can't seem to find any sites online that will actually let me get a quote. I am 16 with no tickets/wrecks or anything. I'm looking for "basic" coverage.... Does any have any idea what the monthly/6months/yearly would be? Any help would be great, thanks!

I'm going to GUESS here.

Depending on your area...anywhere from $120 to $150 a month.

I dont think insurance companies can quote you online under 18. You'll have to call local agents to get an accurate number.

I'm pretty sur eyou can't get your own insurance because you're underage. Sometimes when you fill out the applications, they even tell you to go under your parents plan. I as well as my friends who are all 17 seem to pay anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 a year. I'm not sure how they have their plans set up though.

He's pretty much dead on, except that I would at least double that quote if you're looking for comprehensive (which you should be on a vehicle that new).

Plus you want your car to be covered by damages if you wreck it or it is a hit and run.

If you are 16 you will have to be own your parent's policy or get a local agent.

Get a GT! Don't fool with the v6.

Liability only covers only what you do to someone else, if you wreck & it's your fault you eat the cost of repairs.

Comprehensive covers your ass when it's your fault. It also covers vandalism, theft, etc.

If the vehicle is not completely paid for (ie it's financed) comprehensive will be required.

If you finance the car you will be required to have full coverage. If you opt for a GT expect to pay more than the car payments, or rather your Parents.. If you have exceptional grades you may have a decent rate under your parents policy if you get a 6 cyl. But Im pretty sure any Mustang or sporty coupe costs more to insure than say a 4 cyl sedan.

Or he can save a lot of money now by getting a beater with a lot lower insurance. Then he can buy something fast like a 98+ Camaro SS with a 320+ HP LS1. :)

I have 95 mustang v8 and when I was 17 the insurance was 154 dollars a month. Don't do just basic coverage, it is worth the extra 10-30 dollars to make sure you are covered well. But like somebody mentioned, if you are fianancing the car they usually make you do that anyway.

Miles driven/year and location also has alot to do with it.

I drive my '02 Dakota in California 18k miles/year and I'm 23 with a clean record (I get the "good driver discount") and I'm paying $2000 for next year's insurance.
