Insurance for a beat up van?

I currently have a 2002 elantra that was bought new and the insurance is very high here in NYC. I got into an accident (I wasn't at fault but my insurance went up) and my car got broken into once. I'm thinking about selling it and getting a beat up van since I find myself moving stuff around a lot... so where can I find out insurance quotes for something I don't currently own? just trying to figure out if it will be worth it in the end.

Any auto insurance company will be happy to quote you on a vehicle you don't own yet. All you need is make/model/etc.

get a black astro or any full-size dodge or ford. Tinted windows only. Posibly some wifi antennas
