I've noticed that on the past 2 or 3 cases I've bought, they don't come with the paper-ish donuts that go between the screw head and the motherboard, when installing the motherboard in a case. Are these not needed anymore? What gives??

One important purpose they do have however, is to help prevent overtightening and cracking the PCB. (seen this more than a few times!)
Also for those who lose the proper screws and try to use oversize ones.
