Reader's Instrument Calibrated iBook 12in LCD ColorSync Profile
" Michael, I spotted the Timothy N. article on Friday's news page which described his problems with the 12 inch powerbook's LCD profile making his screen appear less than satisfactory. I'd like to forward to him a copy of my own instrument derived dual USB ibook 12 inch's colorsync profile. While it won't be an exact match to his screen, it should be considerably better than the ones that Apple provided.
The Apple supplied profiles yield poor grayscale tracking with very visible differences in the color of gray as brightness goes up. The relatively low gamma for the Apple also makes things look more washed out. This was created using a GretagMacbeth spectrophotometer and produces excellent grayscale tracking for d65 (NTSC standard for white) with a 2.2 gamma curve (again to match NTSC). It is only a perfect profile for my own particular screen, but he should be able to use it to good advantage.
Guy K. "

I don't know if the PB G4 12in uses the same brand of LCD panel, but if any owners try this let me know. (As I mentioned in Friday's news - in the past with other PBs I have used SuperCal with good results, but I'm not a professional graphics guy.)

Try raising your brightness? Colors etc seem to look better to me, specially pictures.

The colors look decent, but stuff like the menus that were previously nearly white are now a medium gray color.

I tried to photograph it to show how much darker the iBook (left) looks than the Dell 180FP (right), but my photo doesn't really seen to have the desired effect.

I know it's darker, i have another lcd here. I'm just wondering if these colors are truly accurate. If they are, i dont mind if it's darker.
