besides trying to shoot and kill people.
That's mostly it.
- dots on the radar are other people in your army
- large dots are 'spawn points' that can be captured by standing within a radius of that flag long enough for the enemy flag to be brought down and your flag to be run up the pole (there is also a progress meter for this under the mini-map)
- The more of your friendly forces that are within the flag radius, the faster the opposing flag will lower and your will raise.
- The numbers are the number of 'tickets' each side has. If someone dies, their team loses a ticket. There may also be other ways to lose tickets. Most maps (including the one in the demo) if one army holds a majority of the spawn points, there will be a slow automatic drain of the opposing army's 'tickets'
The rest of it is pretty simple, shoot at the opposing force, kneeling or going prone will make your shots more accurate. Also shooting in burts will make your shots more accurate.
As far as what is needed to 'win' in the demo you will almost always 'win' simply by retaining more tickets than the opposing army when the time limit expires. In the full version the time limit will generally be set long enough so that a force can more easily reach zero, in that case the team with tickets remaining wins.
Because tickets are what is important, often strategies for capturing and maintaining control of a majority of spawn points are better than strategies that just involve killing as many enemies as you can, though to some extent the two go hand in hand.
