stumbled across this program but the info on the site seems a bit sketchy.

Am wondering if you had an older machine without cd boot option in bios.
if this might be a good route to go for ease of installation?

I am the "creator" of instlux. Instlux is based on

that explains how to boot a linux installer from your windows, without booting from a CDROM.

Actually instlux supports Ubuntu 5.04, but I am working on supporting the new ubuntu release, as well as other distros (opensuse, fedora, debian, mandriva).
