Unfortunately Trump created this situation by withdrawing from the nuclear deal and it looks like Iran is accelerating its nuclear arsenal faster than ever despite heavy sanctions. I know the Obama deal was controversial, but for the short time it was in place it appeared to at least keep things as they were, although maybe it was delaying this inevitable scenario. Tough situation.

Iran was not seriously pursuing making their own nuclear weapons at the time of the nuclear deal. This was not an inevitable scenario. Trump left Iran with only one choice in order to have leverage against the US, and of course they are pursuing it. Unfortunately, Iran itself is not homogenous politically, militarily, religiously. Things were moving in a much better direction before Trump. We ought to have learned by now that trying to use force to create political and social progress in the Middle East is fruitless.

The Iran deal was only controversial to hawks in congress who desperately wanted a ground war in Iran and Israel.

Trump didn't like it because Obama did it. If Obama kept an old lady from being run over by a bus Trump would push her back under the wheels and demand to be applauded. This is basically the driver for every policy decision he makes.

You wanna know what's funny? This is the same President who forgot to take credit for killing Al Qaeda's Number 2 ahead of the election--either because he forgot about it, or because his own intelligence/military advisors *HID IT FROM HIM!!!!*

Wow, too bad Trump won last time. We would have had a eye on things, now nothing. The winning never ends.

Not true. Even though Iran upgraded their centrifuges & resumed production of fuel grade LEU the IAEA has monitored production all along. It's all Neocon bullshit.

So are they staying within the limits, even though they supposedly have increased enrichment quantities by 12 times? Or once again is that just more BS? MSM hasn't really been doing too much reporting or this until now.

They are not within the limits set by the JCPOA but production has been continuously monitored by the IAEA.

When we renounced the JCPOA they became free to produce as much LEU as they want under the terms of the NPT & IAEA supervision. It's all accounted for. It's not how Iran wanted it to be, at all. They thought the JCPOA was great, as did everybody not of the Neocon or stupid persuasion. They sold off their stocks of LEU & mothballed production, basically backed off from their nuclear ambitions entirely.

I'm no great fan of the Iranian govt, but they lived up to their end of it. They're still living up to their end of the NPT with IAEA supervision.

I wouldn't say fruitless. more like counter productive.
