Alas, "better" is almost always subjective. But you're right sometimes it's not and in those clearcut cases we have opted to let the Master dictate to us.

I believe it has always been "dog eat dog." However, the pace of this behavior has certainly picked up its pace over the past few years - and people are not so discrete about it any more. Look at all of the highly-educated business executives who'll fiddle with the accounting numbers ... only to have it haunt them six months later.

Picked up the pace? I think humans are far more compassionate we used to be. The fact that we give the poor ANYTHING is a major step from where we used to be. Poor people used to be locked outside the city gates to die.

But I guess being given food stamps and government housing isn't enough for some of you. You won't be happy until the lazy are as wealthy as the productive.
