Instead of Iraq, why not Canada?

Seems to me that the U.S. is making a big mistake occupying Iraq. If the U.S. has an itchy trigger finger, why dont they shoot some trees, and take Canada. After all Canada is a neighbour, troops could easily occupy Canada. I am a canadian and dont like the idea, but it to me Canada would be a better place to have than Iraq. The yearly military budget for Canada is aprox. one billion canadian dollars(or 700 million usd.). The U.S. military budget is much higher.

Canada is already surrounded, alaska, which is north of Canada, and the province of Alberta ( if any canadian province would support the occupation than this it).

Maybe Europe would respond with some trade embargos, but so what.

Canada has lots of gas, wood, water, supposedly the best diamonds in the world, and best of all a low population

I know it sounds silly, but their wouldn't even be a war, it would be like when Nazi Germany took Austria.

The best part is, America would be to preoccupied with Canada to start more trouble in the Middle East. North Korea might do something crazy, but arabs would not respond with more terrorist attacks.

I wrote this as a joke, but I think it makes sense.

I fell obligated to post it:

Sheila: Times have changed, our kids are getting worse..
They won't obey their parents, they just want to fart and curse!
Should we blame the Government? Or Blame Society?
Or should we blame the images on TV?

All: No, Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
With all their beaty little eyes, their flapping heads so full of lies!
Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
We need to form a full assault, It's Canada's Fault!

Sharon: Don't blame me, for my son Stan..
He saw the darn cartoon, and now he's off to join the clan!
And my boy Eric once had my picture on his shelf..
But now when he sees me, he tells me to fvck myself!

All: Well? Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
It seems that everything's gone wrong since Canada came along..
Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
They're not even a real country anyway.

Mrs. McCormick: My son could've been a doctor or a lawyer, rich and true..
Instead he burned up like a piggy on a Barbecue.
Should we blame the matches? Should we blame the fire?
Or the Doctors who allowed him to expire?

All: Heck no, Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
With their hockey hullabaloo, and that bitch Anne Murray, too!
Blame Canada! Shame on Canada..
For, the smut we must stop.. the trash we must smash..
The laugher and fun.. must all be undone..
We must blame them.. and cause a fuss..
before somebody thinks of blaming us!

Maybe the reason we don't invade Canada is they aren't led religious extremists trying to kill every last one of us..

They start blowing up our buildings and hijacking our planes, then we just might..

But, your hated for Bush outweighs any sense of rational thought you may have once had.. so, I'll just let it go at that..

Oh, thats reminds me I saw on the news today that the U.S. found the WMD. Also a strong link to alquieda was found. David E. kelly who leaked the info about the 45 minute readiness by Iraq to be wrong, was found to be a liar and that is why he killed himself.

Top news: The majority of the hijackers of 9/11 that were thought to be from Saudi Arabia, were actually from Iraq.

I guess you are right, i must be irrational the proof is here.

Is this the definition of irony...or simply a misunderstanding?

They all ready have water, electricity & maybe trees too.
Water & electricity that BC sells to the US is lower price than to BCers. And, not many years ago we found that the trees that BC sold to the US at a low price end up back into Canadian market at a higher price.

Every nation on earth is a possible threat. Even our own people are a possible threat. They could vote the Bush administration out of office and then who knows what we'd be left with?

I think the time has come to "take care of all the family business."

We should invade every nation on earth, not just Canada. We should suspend elections in the USA and declare martial law.

After all, these are people who know what's best for us. They are the ruling class. We should just give in and let them do what they were born to do - Rule.

We need a monarch. A ruling family. I think the Bush family will do a fine job running their kingdom.

And they won't have to lie to us any more to advance their agenda. No need to build concensus.

They can simply rule by decree.

The U.S. has some control over Canada, not absolute. Eventually it will happen. The british could have had it all, now they are stuck on an Island. Maybe this is hundreds( I doubt hundreds) of years away, but it will happen.

That would be up to the U.S. whether Canada made nuclear weapons. If the long term intention of the U.S. is to make Canada part of the U.S..................nice try.

I think you guys are mistaken. It's not whether another country has nuclear weapons that matters. It's whether we say they have nuclear weapons (whether they do or not) that matters.

Because we have enough morons here in the US already. We don't need any more.

For the record, we were nipping a problem in the bud. In 10 years, Iraq could have been a huge threat and a war then may have costs hundreds of thousands of lives. We simply stopped them before they got started. Anyone who thinks that Saddam was not trying to build up a military is an idiot. It's just like Germany in the 20's and 30's, only this time, we are stopping them before a world war breaks out.
