Installshield stops at "performing the requested operations"

I'm trying to install Midnight Club 2, and everything goes fine until the installation program (installshield) actually tries to copy the files or whatever from the CD to my harddrive. Nothing happens, it doesn't even get to 0%. It just says "performing the requested operations" and then doesn't do anything. I have to use taskmanager to manually close the program. Any thoughts on this?
