Installing XP with OEM Keys using retail XP

I have a whole bunch of Dell workstations to reinstall. I want to use a XP SP2 install CD that was created using a retail version of XP.

Yet when I do it, it won't recognise the XP Key that is on each Dell box.

Is there any way of installing retail XP and getting it to recognise OEM Keys??

I do not want to have to use the recovery CD's to resintall these machines because they are a pain to use.

Are the versions of XP actually different???

Any help would be great.
