What do I need to know as far as additional software from AMD or turning on dual core in windows?

I am going to format a new drive and do a fresh install with XP sp2 and nforce 4 6.66 drivers.... What else do I need?

Thanks!

you don't NEED the X2 drivers from AMD, but they are helpful. I did not re-install windows, and my PC works fine. However, I would recomend you flash your bios to a rev. that supports X2's before you install it so you don't go, "WTF WHERE IS MY SECOND CORE!?!"

No, this one requires the use of a hammer and blowtorch to install ;) .

Seriously, you just install it like normal and then get the AMD X2 driver from AMD's website. It will still boot and function without the driver, so you should be fine. Oh yeah, if that's your setup in your signature, you may as well play it safe and flash to the latest non-beta BIOS for your motherboard, to ensure the best compatibility :) .
