Installing windows XP on a SATA drive

My main drive is nosing up. I tried to do an insatll on my back up drive, but when it attempts to install it says there are no drives present. I switched them back to main and backup and got teh same message. I thus deducted (I had to throw in a big word here to sound marginally intelligent, but trust me it's a ruse), that I'm missing a step. So what do I need to do to install XP on sata drives?

I did a search on this but it only gave me one talking about doing apartition install. Didn't seem to answer my question. Thanks.

Hit F6 during setup when prompted for third party storage drivers. Insert the floppy disk with drivers for your SATA card. That's it.
