i am currently on a 60 gig hard drive running windows xp pro. i have a 80gb hard drive as a slave and i just reformatted it. i just purchased a copy of windows xp home and i want to install it on the slave hard drive.

is there any way to install windows xp home on the second hard drive from inside windows xp pro on the main hard drive? i would like to be able to do this from inside windows and not have to physically mess with the computer.

thanks

Not sure I follow what you mean by physically messing with the computer.

Boot the XP Home CD and run through the installation, choosing to install on the second drive.
When you are done your 60 gig drive will still be the drive you boot from (has MBR and startup files..ntldr, ntdetect, boot.ini). The only difference is you will have an additional entry in your boot.ini that allows you to choose your installation at boot.

Sounds like a pretty classic dual boot situation unless I'm missing something.
