Installing Windows on a laptop with no CD Drive

I have acquired an old laptop (Compaq LTE 5100) and it has no CD Drive. The current Windows installation is knackered and will not boot, so needs to be reinstalled. I have Windows 95 on CD, which I can copy on to my desktop PC (running Win XP).

I have a parallel data transfer cable, so it should be possible for me to copy the setup files off my pc on to the laptop.

Does anybody know of any software that will do this? Essentially, it needs a Win XP pc to be able to communicate with a DOS pc to transfer the data across.

I've found an old dos version of laplink, and that seems to do the job as long as I boot my main pc using a dos boot disk.

Thanks for the help anyway 🙂
