I am attempting to install Windows NT 4.0 using this motherboard. When I get to the network install area, I proceed to point it to a CD I created that has the drivers. It sees the VIA NIC, but when I proceed, it tells me that the NIC is not present in the system. It will then will just sit there stating it is installing TCP/IP, but it is doing nothing. I can eject the NT cd, after which it will prompt me for it. I can put it in again and resume setup, but that does nothing. It will still just sit at the "Installing TCP/IP" progress meter.
As I am building a Primary Domain Controller, this portion of the setup cannot be skipped, and then installed later. It must be installed at this point. I was using the driver in WIN/WNT40 from the NIC download on Biostar's web site. I found no KB article or FAQ for this motherboard.
Please don't say to install Windows 2000, I need NT 4 for a reason. Guys, any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
